HSE

Health, Safety & Environment

Safety is a condition of work on every Bedrock site. Our documented HSE management system governs how we plan, induct, audit and respond — for our people, our clients and the public.

Our system

How we manage safety

Key elements of the Bedrock Integrated HSE manual, applied on every project site.

01

HSE policy & leadership

Bedrock is committed to a healthy, safe workplace for every employee and contractor, with a designated HSE advisor responsible for implementing the policy and HSE placed on an equal pedestal with productivity.

02

Safety management system

Annual safety audits are undertaken in line with the company's ISO 18001-aligned management system, with performance reviewed by senior management.

03

Risk assessments & RAMS

A central risk-assessment database covers company operations, and all operatives sign task-specific risk assessments and method statements before work begins.

04

Site inductions

Every employee, operative and visitor receives a site-specific induction covering emergency procedures, site rules, first aid and their responsibilities under health and safety law.

05

Near-miss & observations reporting

A proactive observations-reporting system captures near misses and undesired events so corrective action is taken before incidents occur.

06

Emergency response

A documented Emergency Response Plan defines the structure, roles and responsibilities for responding to any emergency affecting people, operations, assets or the environment.

07

Training

HSE training includes basic fire fighting, first aid and safety induction programmes, supported by a Critical Safety Behaviours campaign across operations.

08

Welfare facilities

Clean, well-maintained welfare facilities are provided on every site in line with applicable workplace health, safety and welfare regulations.

Policy documents

Our full Health & Safety policy, Emergency Response Plan and site-specific risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) are maintained under our HSE management system and are available to clients and procurement teams on request.
